MACCABI HAIFA SIGNS GUARD JEREMY WISE TO A TWO-YEAR CONTRACT
Wise to become floor general for Maccabi Haifa through 2012-2013 season
AVENTURA, Florida – The Maccabi Haifa professional basketball team of the Israeli Basketball Super League today announced they have signed guard Jeremy Wise to a two-year contract through the 2012-13 season.

Wise, 25, played last season for the NBA D-League’s Bakersfield Jam, where he averaged 14.9 points, 4.9 assists, 3.2 rebounds, 1.2 steals and shot 35 percent from 3-point range in 53 games. The 6-foot-3-inch guard signed with Sigma Barcellona in Italy’s second division towards the end of last season, averaging 16 points while dishing out 3 assists per game in five games played.
“Wise has excellent quickness, athleticism, and versatility at the guard position,” said Maccabi Haifa head coach Mickey Gorka. “I’ve had my eye on him for a few years now and I believe he will be a special player in the Israeli league.”
“I was very impressed with Jeremy Wise during his two seasons in the NBA D-League,” said Maccabi Haifa owner and American businessman Jeffrey Rosen. “Wise’s ability to score and pass will bring an exciting dynamic to Maccabi Haifa this season.”
Wise, a native of Jackson, MS, joins a Maccabi Haifa roster that features former University of Virginia guard Sylven Landesberg, former Marshall University forward Tyler Wilkerson, Israeli guard Avi Ben-Chimol as well as Israeli National Olympic Team members forward Daniel Aidan and guard Tamir Arieli.
Wise played three seasons at Southern Miss. from 2006-2009, where he averaged 16.7 points, 3.0 assists, and 1.8 steals, while shooting 85.7 percent from the free-throw line in 32 games played during his senior season.
