The 1st round's MVP, Davon Jefferson, is coming to Nokia arena this Sunday for a hot struggle vs. Maccabi Tel Aviv. Last year it was the Final 4 finals game and there is a chance for that to happen this year as well. Both teams are coming to this game after a loss in the previous game but Jefferson thinks that Maccabi Tel Aviv has all the pressure.
Davon, congratulations for winning the MVP of the round.
"Thank you, I appreciate it, this couldn't have happened without my great teammates, but it is the start of the season, how you start the season doesn't count, it's how you end it that matters".
Maccabi Tel Aviv is coming to this game after a loss in Netanya, aren't you afraid that they will come more determined because of that?
"Not really, we saw that they are vulnerable, they are coming to this game under a lot of pressure, much more than us, they will have all the pressure on Sunday and we will need to take advantage of that".
Over the past few weeks you have been playing with an injury, what is you situation for Sunday's game?
"I'm improving, I still have pains in my muscles, and I am slowly recovering, but I will be ok by Sunday".
You're meeting your former teammate Doron Perkins this Sunday, anything special planned for him?
"Not really, this is like every other game for me, every game is special, no matter who we meet".
You lost this year to powerful teams, Maccabi Tel Aviv, Galil and Jerusalem, can Maccabi Haifa come back from Nokia with a win?
"If you ask me we had one real loss this season, in Galil, they truly beat us, we lost all of the other games by ourselves, so I think that we can certainly come back with a win".
And what can win the game for you?
"Defense, if we will play our defense, we will win".
